In June 2012, Marvel filed eleven trademark applications for Guardians of the Galaxy, covering a variety of consumer products, from video games tocosmetics.
Clothing was also created .
Doing interviews and pre-views at comic con was vital as people at comic contend to have a interest these thing so this was practically there target audience so this gave them more of insight and is a vital marketing tool.(As a avid Comic con attendee I can relate to this) .
Star-Lord’s obsession with 1980s nostalgia, including his "Awesome Mix Vo. 1" cassette, has also served as a focal point to craft products around. After seeing this movie I can admit Me and my friend I saw it with listened to this and that person even brought it showing it as a vital marketing tool.
n June 2014, Mike Pasciullo, senior VP of Marvel Studios, described the marketing approach for Guardians of the Galaxy by saying that Marvel had "built a robust marketing program for the theatrical release that carefully integrates traditional advertising, social media, digital marketing, strategic promotional partnerships, organic entertainment integrations [and] publicity."
action figures and toys along those lines were also used for marketing as well as a subway "child meal " , which helps approach the wider audience , gaining more hype .
Synergy was used as they used Marvels twitter and Facebook page which is together as one so there is a sample of synergy in that area.Mad Engine and C-Life were partnered as the core apparel outfitters, producing a line of t-shirts and fleece jackets, while New Era produced headwear and hats.Hasbro produced toys for the film; Disguise and Rubies produced the costumes; and Sideshow Collectibles was given charge of the collectibles.
Cross Media convergence was used as Comic Books and Video games were made based on the movie
